Darul Huda Islamic University anniversary conference begins

Tirurangadi: Anniversary celebrations of Chemmad Darul Huda Islamic University has begun at Hidaya Nagar in Malappuram. Panakkad Haidarali Shihab Thangal raised the flag Friday evening commencing the three-day conference. Maharashtra governor K Shankaranarayanan inaugurated the conference.

While speaking on the occasion the governor of Maharashtra Shankaranarayan said that only through education social reputation and wealth can be attained. Kerala should be a model for other states in India for educational advancements, he said. Panakkad Haidarali Shihab Thangal presided over the inaugural session. General Education Director M.P.M Muhammed Haneesh was the chief guest.

E.T Muhammed Basheer MP, P.K.P Abdul Salam, secretary, Samastha Educational Board, C.K.M Sadique Musliyar, Adv. P.M.A Salam M.L.A. K Moin Kutty and U.V.K Muhammed spoke in the session.

Sachar Committee member Abusale Sheriff will inaugurate a seminar titled, ‘Muslim World – A Distant View’ Saturday morning. On the same day, a seminar on Islamic finance will be held. Union Minister K.C Venugopal will inaugurate the seminar. In the afternoon on Saturday, a Fiqh Seminar and National Conference will take place. The conference will wind up on Sunday, organizers of the conference said.
